Vegetarian Goulash
Warning, this recipe will disgust most american ultra-light-fat-free-low-cholesterin types due to the eggs, the salami and the bread.
Ingrediences
- 2 large handful potatos
- 3 onions
- 2 paprica peppers of any colour
- Some small carrots
- A nice dry, probably sharp salami
- Add other fresh stuff like e.g. spring onions or champingnons by your linkings
- 4-6 eggs
- Salt, pepper, hot paprika, caraway
Preparation
The only thing you need to prepare is to peel the potatos and cut them into slices of less than half a centimeter. Sometime into the cooking, remember to put the stove on about 180 degrees celsius
The Cooking
Start with peeling and chopping the onions. Fry them with some oil until they're glassy.
Next throw the potatos into the pan and add the spicing. Personally I like the caraway a lot, but you can leave it away if you don't like it.
Frequently turn the content of the pan over again and again. Having a good pan that prevents sticking helps. Infrequently, You can pour little amounts of water into the pan if you like to have to have the potas softer. While the potatos are frying with the onions, cut the remaining vegetables into small pieces and slices.
Once the potatos are well done, throw the vegetables into the pan. Keep an eye on the cat since the salami is the only thing left lying around...
Let the vegetables fry with the potatos while continuing to turn everyting over once in a while. Open the eggs and put them into a dish. Add some coffee milk and if you like some Schnittlauch. Stir that thoroughly until it's homogene and milky, then pour it over the by now hopefully done vegetables and the potatos.
Feed the cats inbetween.
Put the salami slices on top of the whole thing and put it into the stove that should be hot by now - you haven't forgotten to switch it on, haven't you? Leave it there for some 15-20 minutes.
In the meantime, clean up the mess.
This stuff is best eaten on some strong roggen bread - and no, you americans, one does not create dark bread by putting cocoa into it...
Serve it in the pan.
