My old job at the infoware GmbH
Sorry, folks! I'm so busy with my work, that I even don't have the time to talk about it ;-)
-
Bosswrote fulltext-retrieval in about 1986 or so, published first CD-ROM ever in Germany.
-
Co-worker (important, but no homepage :-) and I where hired to port this to C in 1992.
-
Did that!
-
Used that new library to simulate a GOLEM interface running on a BS2000 Siemens machine. Got it to work, and thus downsized the BS2000 to a 486.
-
Started porting that retrieval over to UNIX.
-
Got a first rudimental Client/Server version running about 1994.
-
This guyis now responsible for the retrieval-lib
-
Created some crude collection of scripts and utility programs using the retrieval library, to create a web-interface
-
Started complete new product seriesfrom these about the beginning of 1995
-
Doing enhancements, generalizations and OTOH customer-specific tailoring of this package all the time now.
-
Primary UNIX-Sysadmin here, managing several Linux-boxes, a Sun Ultraa Siemens RM-200, and a UnixWaremachine.
-
responsible for Internet-access, e-mail, DNS and all other network-relevant stuff.
-
Consulting any- and everybody that comes in and asks just abouteverything that could come to mind.
