This is the last general entry in english. Since I’m asked more and more often, why this site is english only, while I’m german, and since I have more and more net contacts from germany, only special pages will be created in english from now on. The main part of this site will slowly be migrated into the german language, parts that I don’t want to translate will be put into an attic section, so that no content will be lost anyways.

Dies ist der letzte englischsprachige Eintrag. Da ich immer wieder gefragt werde, wieso diese Site englischsprachig ist, obwohl ich doch deutscher bin, und weil ich mehr und mehr mit deutsprachige Kontakten im Netz zu tun habe, werden zukünftig nur noch spezielle Seiten auf englischer Sprache hier veröffentlicht. Der Hauptteil der Site wird nach und nach in’s Deutsche übersetzt werden, die Teile die ich nicht übersetzen werde, wandern in einen Extra-Abschnitt, so dass keine alten Inhalte verloren gehen werden.

Looks as if everything went pretty smooth. The site is completely driven by the Template-Toolkit. Comments are migrated, as is blosxom as the new blog engine.

Thanks to using PATH_INFO, Blosxom perfectly integrates into the site framework via SSI. I expected to do quite some fiddling with its code, but actually, I still haven’t checked more than 2 or three details in its code. Cool stuff.

I’ve had a short walk through my error logs and now should map all URLs that moved somewhere else properly to their new home. So, nobody should experience dead bookmarks.

Ah, one more thing: I’ve established very basic counter measures against some dorks who used images from this site in their eBay auctions. But since they didn’t copy the images, but instead deeplinked them directly from my server, costing my bandwidth, this will no longer be allowed.

OMFG. It’s been three years, that this site had been dead. Since the old server is going to be shut down, I took the effort to get my ass up and revive it.

Over is the time of useless dynamic page generation. Everything is now nice and static, generated by the mighty Template-Toolkit.

The comments still need to be migrated, but this will happen in the next 2 days.

Expect some breakage of old bookmarks, although I’ll catch these with redirects soon.

Food, nothing but food…

I added just another recipe, a turkish vegetable and lamb bowl. Sadly, I lost some of the photos.

Next, on the Current Mike page I give a short note about some changes in my life. I’m a freelancer now..

Finally, I also added the last pictures I have made of Pucky to his memorial page.

Life goes on…

Another update. At last, I moved the page about Pucky to a less exposed place. It’s still painful to see his photos here on the site, but it’s getting better.

On a lighter side, I added another recipe.

A lot of functionality that drives this page has been added, but that’s mostly invisible from browsing this site.
