Departure Day

These 4 images were the last I made after a terrific holiday. Although we had 14 days with splendid weather, that last day was by far the best.

Although we had 14 days of splendid weather, that last day was so good, we just couldn't believe it. There was not a single cloud to be seen throughout the day and the usual haze near the horizon wasn't there either. One could easily see the neighbour island far behind the tip of Fuerteventura

I couldn't resist to take these two shots. Waiting for the bus in a kind of lobby on the outsite of the hotel area I just pointed the camera straight up into the sky and pushed the button. Looking at that simple blue picture always makes me feel good.

I wanted to take some more pictures on the bus ride that follows the complete length of the island, but either it was to dark or the bus drove to unsteady. So, arriving at the airport the sun was mostly set and following that brilliant day the upcoming nightsky wasn't any less beautiful.

Due to the near position to the equator the sun is setting pretty fast and about the same time each day on the Canaries. These two shots at the airport were only taken some 5 minutes apart from each other.

All in all, I was never really for a holiday in the south, but I will remember that 14 days as extremly relaxing and beautiful...
