The Midnight Modeller

I did the Linux port of the Midnight Modeller, which seems still to be used by some folks out there.

Tuesday, Joe and I took an evening off and brought the MNM through the compiler again. There's a lot of work to do on the sources, and we need to figure out how to move the stuff over to SourceForge before publishing the sources, but everything's on its way...

A fresh statically linked full distribution can be found here, but NOTE THAT THE README IS TERRIBLY OUTDATED. However, the installation instructions still apply.

News alert! David Taylor stumbled over this page and contacted me. He gave his permissions to publish the MNM sources, and that's exactly what I'll do as soon as it goes through the compiler again. People volunteering to work on it should contact me under the address at the bottom of the page.

Ooooold information

If your MNM segfaults on you, it's because the full package is linked dynamically, and libc has changed alot since the v1.2-Kernel-Days.

To solve your problem just do the following:

That's all there is to do.

Addendum: I was informed, that the old static version doesn't work on some new systems anymore. I couldn't reproduce that behaviour, but on a request, I recompiled the mnm in two versions: A shared (160K) Version, and a static (430K) one.

Again: THESE ARE ONLY THE BINARIES! YOU STILL NEED THE FULL PACKAGE! So the above installation instructions stay the same.
